Fire chief says career staff would have cut response time

March 31, 2013, East Gwillimbury, Ont. - The time it took for firefighters to respond to a blaze that claimed the lives of four family members could have been cut almost in half if East Gwillimbury wasn’t so reliant on volunteers, the town’s fire chief says. The Toronto Star reports.
