Mississauga announces new division fire chief

Sept. 25, 2014, Mississauga, Ont. – Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services has appointed a new division chief of fire prevention and life safety.
The city announced Thursday morning that Jamie Zimmerman – the current deputy chief of Waterloo Fire Rescue – will replace retiring division chief Roger Clement on Oct. 20.
During his 30 years in the fire service, Zimmerman served as a fire protection specialist with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office and as fire chief with the Town of Minto, Ont.
Zimmerman is a graduate of the Ontario Fire College and studied fire service leadership at Dalhousie University. His background includes fire and explosion investigation, and fire inspection.
