Montreal firefighter treated for smoke inhalation
Dec. 7, 2016, Montreal - A firefighter was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after he helped extinguish one of two blazes that erupted on the island of Montreal late Tuesday.

The first fire began around 10 p.m. in a home on Daudelin St. in Kirkland, just north of Highway 40. About 40 Montreal firefighters were deployed to contain the fire, which caused roughly $100,000 in damage to a vacant house.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Then, around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, a six-storey apartment building caught fire on Côte-des-Neiges Rd. The building was evacuated and no residents were injured. However, 33 of them stayed in a temporary Red Cross shelter.
The fire started on the building’s second floor but its cause isn’t yet known.
