Nakoda Fire pushes to become full-time department

Nov. 16, 2020, Nakota, Alta. – The Stoney Nakoda Fire Department in Alberta is pushing to build a full-time fire department to deal with their call volume. Firefighters assert that the department, which averages between 60 to 70 calls a month, needs more in-house emergency services in Stoney Nakoda because, in the past, the funding and manpower has not been there.
