Darlene Goodfellow, the wife of one of Napanee, Ont.’s volunteer firefighters, was killed in the second crash early Sunday.

Napanee Mayor Gordon Schermerhorn says provincial police are taking
the couple’s three daughters to London today to see their dad in
hospital.

Nine others are heading back to Napanee, where they are expected Monday evening.

Schermerhorn says there’s still been no information on what caused the crash early Sunday.

The chartered bus that crashed was taking the town’s firefighters and family members home from Windsor, Ont.

The relatives had gone down after five firefighters were initially
injured in a crash Saturday on Highway 401 near London as they travelled
home from a competition.

Schermerhorn says funeral arrangements have not yet been made for Goodfellow.

Those still in hospital have injuries such as broken bones.

“Nothing life-threatening,” the mayor said.

“We hear broken vertebrae and things like that.”
