New Brunswick building fire damages businesses, apartments

Aug. 20, 2013, Grand Falls, N.B. – Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged apartments and businesses in New Brunswick.

The Canadian Red Cross says the blaze at the three-storey building on Broadway Boulevard in Grand Falls broke out just before midnight Monday.

They say one apartment was gutted while at least one other was extensively damaged.

The Red Cross says several other units and businesses on the first floor received smoke and water damage.

Most of the building's 16 tenants have found other places to stay.

No one was injured.
