May 6, 2013, Neguac, N.B. – New Brunswick police are investigating a fire that destroyed several fishing boats and damaged a wharf on Sunday on the province's northeast coast.

RCMP in Neguac, N.B., say officers were called to the Tabusintac Wharf around 3 a.m.

The Mounties say five boats that were moored at the wharf were destroyed in the blaze, while others were saved.

Police say the Environment Department was also called to the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known and the investigation is ongoing.
