Jan. 21, 2013, Somerville, N.B. – A New Brunswick truck driver is recovering in hospital after his truck ran over him.

Hartland fire chief Mike Walton says the driver had failed to engage the truck's braking system before he stepped from the cab on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene at the Professional Carriers in Somerville in western New Brunswick.

The man was take to a local hospital with serious injuries.

He was later transferred to a Moncton hospital for surgery.

The victim is listed in serious by stable condition.
