New standard to protect first responders
Public Safety Minister Vic Toews announced Tuesday a national
standard for protective equipment for firefighters, police and
paramedics that ensures first responders have the proper equipment in
the event of a CBRN incident.

Ottawa has a national national standard for protective equipment for firefighters, police and paramedics that ensures first responders have the proper equipment in the event of a CBRN incident. The standard was announced Monday by Public Safety Minister Vic Toews during a mock hazardous situation at an unused Toronto subway station.
