Fire officials say only two of the 18 non-venomous snakes in the home survived the blaze.

Firefighters were called to the home (on Cherrywood Drive near Davis Drive and Yonge Street) at about 5:30 a.m. Friday and arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames.

Authorities say the home's smoke alarms were working and all the people inside were able to escape.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
