Sept 14, 2007 - WINNIPEG - Shane Ferguson, a member of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, has been selected as one of seven finalists by the International Association of Fire Chiefs for its Fire Service Award for Excellence. Ferguson is being recognized for his work in creating "Staying Alive," a comprehensive fire safety program for children. Fire & Paramedic Chief Wes Shoemaker and Firefighter Ferguson will be at the IAFC Conference in Dallas, Texas, where the final award winner will be announced on Thursday evening, Sept. 14, 2006.
