Oct. 3, 2013, Saskatoon – Fire crews have responded to an explosion at a fertilizer plant outside of Saskatoon.
Battalion Chief Sgt. Andy Kotelmach says the substance which exploded was a sulphur-based product.
He says it happened outside the plant and there was no actual fire.
No one was injured.
Kotelmach says once the plant was shut down, there was no further possibility of more explosions.
The company which owns the plant will be conducting their own investigation.
