A fire broke out overnight on the third floor of the Bonnyville Hotel, which consisted of an old bar, a barber shop, a Chinese restaurant and some suites.

Officials say about a dozen people were forced to flee and were treated for minor injuries.

The RCMP aren't confirming a report that one of 45 firefighters battling to bring the blaze under control suffered minor burns.

It's not clear if the old building is salvageable.
