Ontario man missing after explosion levels homes

June 9, 2010, Napanee, Ont. - Investigators will sift through rubble Wednesday looking for a potential victim after an explosion levelled two homes in Napanee, Ont late Tuesday morning.

It happened late Tuesday morning when an explosion and fire started in one home and quickly spread to another.

A third home was also heavily damaged and police are still searching for the occupant of the home in the initial blast.

Neighbours have identified him as Pat Painter, a Canadian Forces soldier based at CFB Kingston.

Provincial police will only say they are still looking for one person who is unaccounted for.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
