August 1, 2012, Toronto – A legislative committee that's looking into Ontario's troubled air ambulance service is in for another gruelling day of testimony.
It's hearing from five witnesses, including Ornge's former chairman, Rainer Beltzner.
Beltzner is one of the key players at Ornge, which is under a criminal probe for financial irregularities.
The service has been under fire for months over high executive salaries, questionable business deals and staffing shortages.
Ousted C-E-O Chris Mazza had previously testified that the board at Ornge approved many decisions, including his $1.4 million dollar compensation package.
Beltzner's daughter was hired at Ornge, but he denies that they ever talked about Ornge business.
He's expected to be the last witness to testify at the hearing, which is expected to go until 7 p.m.
