Panasonic releases Toughbook 55

Sept. 16, 2019, Boston – Panasonic has announced the release of the Panasonic Toughbook 55. The new laptop is designed to help shorten lead times and decrease downtime. Expansion packs offer a variety of additional features – whether I/O ports, a fingerprint reader, dedicated graphics or a second storage drive. Both the main storage drive and optional second storage drive are quick-release for easier installs and access to the drives. RAM and keyboard itself are also user-upgradeable.

The laptop has an optional 1000 nit touchscreen, AMD dedicated graphics and the latest Intel 8th Gen quad core i5 and i7 processors. Intel vPro is standard allowing remote management for IT departments and added security including Intel Hardware Shield.

The laptop is also equipped with tetra-array microphones for speech recognition accuracy. The Toughbook 55 offers a USB Type-C port, HDMI 2.0 and Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, speakers, enhanced brightness and a color-selectable backlit keyboard.

The Toughbook 55 is also backwards compatible with the existing Toughbook 54 vehicle and desktop docks.
