Parks Canada starts fire guard project between Banff and Lake Louise

Dec. 12, 2022, Calgary, Alta. – In an effort to stop or slow the spread of wildfires in the Banff National Park, Parks Canada has undertaken a proactive fire guard project along Highway 1A near the Protection Mountain Campground. The Protection Mountain Fire Guard project is expected to be completed in March 2023 and will see a 32.8-hectare area cleared to landscape level. Calgary Herald reports. | READ MORE
