Pilot OK after plane crashes in Ottawa field

Nov. 15, 2012, Ottawa – Fire officials say a pilot appears to be OK after a small plane crashed in south Ottawa.

Spokesman Marc Messier says the small two-seater went down in a field (near Mackey Road) on Wednesday afternoon.

Messier says the plane is on its roof and paramedics checked out the pilot before sending him to hospital as a precaution.

He says the pilot claims he was having engine troubles before crashing in the field.
