Scott MacKenzie, the owner of Celtic Creek RV Sales, says the fire early Saturday morning only ignited in trailers belonging to his firm and not to customers who have vehicles on the site on the Trans-Canada Highway.
The fire is under investigation by the provincial fire marshal's office and the Cape Breton Regional Police.
The Florence Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire early Saturday after it was called in when a neighbour heard the propane tanks from the recreational vehicles exploding.
MacKenzie estimates the cost of the four trailers is at least $110,000 and depending on how serious the damage is to the other two trailers, that amount could go much higher.
He said he is covered by insurance but adds there are no guarantees that his claim will be approved.
