Two dead after Quebec helicopter crash

Sept. 2, 2015, Sept-Iles, Que. - A helicopter crash on Quebec's North Shore left two people dead and three in hospital with what are said to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Quebec provincial police confirmed the deaths of a man and a woman yesterday, adding the three others were taken to hospital.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the remote area about 40 kilometres north of Sept-Iles, Quebec.

The heavily wooded crime scene is not accessible by road and firefighters and paramedics managed to get to the crash site by helicopter.

The Transportation Safety Board says it will investigate the circumstances of the crash of the Bell 206 helicopter.

Police say five people were aboard the privately owned chopper – four passengers and the pilot.

The victims' identities have not been released.
