Railway tracks worrisome to Belleville fire chief

May 7, 2014, Belleville, Ont. - Belleville is not on track with tackling a rail disaster, says the local fire chief. Local politicians and emergency responders are jumping on the bandwagon with the federal government in assuring safer rail lines. Spurred by the Lac-Megantic Que. rail tragedy, rail companies are being pressured to phase out or retrofit high-risk tank cars transporting flammable liquids. The Belleville Intelligencer reports.
