Aug. 16, 2011, Slave Lake, Alta. - Three months after wildfires destroyed hundreds of homes in Slave Lake, the Canadian Red Cross is gearing up to help families in the city through the fall and winter.

The organization says it is going to help people with school supplies and winter clothing.
The Red Cross is also holding coping with stress as well as violence and abuse workshops in the community as people try to put their lives back together.
Since the fire, more than 300 Red Cross volunteers have pitched in to help.
