Rescue boat sinks in Lake Simcoe

May 6, 2008, Barrie, Ont. - Months of fundraising has literally sunk to the bottom of Lake Simcoe. The Oro-Medonte Township Fire Department's 18-foot rescue boat was swamped by massive waves in whitecap conditions, Sunday morning, and dropped to the bottom of the lake. The wave struck as four firefighters were plucking an 18-year-old Toronto man from the water. The Barrie Examiner reports. READ MORE
