Dec. 23, 2010, Edmonton – Two people suffered injuries when they jumped from a fourth-floor balcony to escape a fire in an Edmonton condominium.
Both jumpers are in hospital following the overnight fire at the northeast condo, but their conditions are not known.
Several fire trucks were called to the two-alarm blaze, which was contained to the top floor.
A number of people who were forced from the building into the chilling -20 C night were given temporary shelter in Edmonton transit
buses.
The fire was brought under control about one hour after the alarm came in.
The cause of the fire is not known.
