Residents reject fire hall proposal

Oct. 29, 2013, Salt Spring Island, B.C. - Salt Spring Island won’t have a new fire hall and emergency operations centre in the near future. Property owners rejected the fire protection district’s request for $6.25-million in borrowing authority in a referendum that concluded Saturday. Gulf Islands Driftwood reports.
