Retired general says leadership requires optimism

Sept. 22, 2010, Saint John, N.B. - When the Canadian Forces lost six soldiers in one attack in July of 2007, the military's top leaders were having trouble holding back tears. Speaking at the CAFC in Saint John, Gen. Rick Hillier, who was the former Chief of Defence Staff, said he knew if he couldn't contain the devastation, it would filter through the organization. The Telegraph Journal reports.
