Richmond crews battle waste facility fire

Mar. 27, 2020, Richmond, B.C. – A Richmond waste facility was on fire on Thursday afternoon. The facility, located on Gilbert Road near the south dyke, was seen emitting black smoke from far away. Tim Wilkinson, fire chief of Richmond Fire-Rescue, said a shed roughly 25 by 40 feet inside the building was on fire, but was put out quickly after receiving a report on it.
