Scott Safety expands TIC market
Nov. 25, 2014 - Scott Safety says it is now one of the largest global suppliers of thermal imaging cameras (TIC) following the company’s announcement Monday that it acquired ISG/Infrasys, a major developer of TIC technology.
Scott Safety, a Tyco International company based in North Carolina, says it now offers the broadest range of imagers on the market after the deal closed on Nov. 20. The acquisition, Scott Safety’s marketing director Jeff Emery said in a joint news release with ISG/Ingrasys, will accelerate new-product development, and expand both companies’ geographic presence, product offerings and service capabilities across North America.
Georgia-based ISG/Infrasys has produced thermal imagers for the fire service for more than two decades. “We look forward to working hand-in-hand to bring innovative new technologies that enhance firefighter safety,” ISG/Infrasys’s CEO David Little said in the release.
Scott Safety distributes and services thermal imaging cameras in western Canada though WFR Wholesale Fire & Rescue in Calgary, in Central Canada through M&L Supply in Ingleside, Ont., and L'Arsenal - Equipements Incendie CMP Mayer in Drummondville, Que., and in eastern Canada through MicMac Fire & Safety Source Ltd. in Fredericton and Dartmouth, N.S., and Levitt Safety Ltd. in Moncton.
