Jan. 31, 2013, Terrebone, Que. – Searchers are still looking for two people who are missing after a landslide at a quarry just northeast of Montreal.

Tuesday's landslide swept an excavator and two trucks into the pit, which is almost 100-metres deep.

It's believed the missing workers – a man and a woman – are buried under a mixture of gravel, clay, and mud.

The team of 60 searchers includes firefighters and geological engineers using metal detectors, thermal cameras and sniffer dogs.

The search is slow-going because of unstable conditions at the
bottom of the pit.

Bruno Marier of the Repentigny Fire Service suggests no one has given up hope and he remains hopeful the workers will be found alive.
