Senior dies in Laval house fire
Dec. 21, 2016, Laval, Que. - A man in his 70s died Wednesday morning in the northwest of Laval when his home caught fire.

The man lived in one of six apartments in a building on Bas-du-Plateau-Ouimet St., just east of Curé-Labelle Blvd. The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m., and firefighters believe the apartment did not have a working smoke detector.
The fire was quickly doused and residents of the other apartments were able to return to their homes later in the morning.
