Spring brings trade show season

April 1, 2008

The Fire Fighting in Canada blogsphere has been sorely ignored of late as we geared up on the magazine side of things for our spring issues of FFIC and Canadian Firefighter and EMS Quarterly.

The April issue of CFF and the May issue of
FFIC are among our meatiest issues of the year, with the May edition being sent to association trade shows across the country.

With trade show season fast approaching – I’ll be at the Ontario, Alberta and Maritime shows (and potentially others) – we expect our new products web page to fill up with the latest and greatest in fire-service equipment and innovations, and we’re looking forward to coming away from the provincial and regional chiefs’ conferences with plenty of fodder for magazine stories.

FFIC will be well represented at the shows: CornerStone columnist Lyle Quan, the deputy chief in Quelph, Ont., and Les Karpluk, the chief in Prince Albert, Sask., team up for a presentation on leadership at the Ontario conference; Ed Brouwer, our Trainer’s Corner writer, is doing a segment on wildfires at FDIC Atlantic; and NFPA Impact columnist Sean Tracey, along with Leadership columnist Dave Hodgins are participating in the Alberta chiefs conference.

We hope to see you in our travels!
