Suspicious fire damages convention centre

Police say Sunday’s blaze is considered suspicious.

Firefighters were called to New Gower Street around 8:30 p.m.

There’s no word on the extent of the damage.

The facility has been undergoing a $60-million expansion that will double its capacity by 2016.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area Sunday to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
