June 13, 2012, Toronto – Who better to help the Ontario Fire Marshal promote safety to children than their own boys of summer – the Toronto Blue Jays!

The OFM and the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs have launched a Swing into Summer Safety campaign, in partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays. The program is intent on educating and raising awareness with school-aged children and their families about fire safety and other injury prevention tips.

Early today, thousands of children from across the province took part in the Fire Safety Day activities at the Rogers Centre Stadium in Toronto. Pre-game activities included a chance to explore fire trucks and talk to firefighters.

At the game, OAFC president, Kevin Foster, was on hand to toss the first pitch.
