Third annual Fire Service Women Ontario conference

Nov. 4, 2013, Gravenhurst, Ont. - Male and female firefighters of all stripes, from rookies to chiefs, participated in the third annual Fire Service Women Ontario (FSWO) conference and training session at the Ontario Fire College in Gravenhurst over the weekend. On Saturday morning, keynote speaker Barbara Annis led a workshop on gender intelligence and how men and women can better work together if they understand and respect the way their brains function. The goal of FSWO is educate, encourage and empower women to take active roles in the fire service, and to promote diversity. Photo by Laura King |
