Transport Canada investigating engine fire
May 23, 2008, Saskatton - The pilot of a Canadian Northern Airlines Boeing 737 was forced to make a landing at the Saskatoon airport Thursday morning while one of the plane's engines was on fire.

Saskatoon police say they were called to the airport at about 1:30 a.m.
Airport authorities extinguished the blaze on the starboard engine.
The five crew and 102 passengers were not injured and were taken to the air terminal to wait for lodgings to be arranged.
The chartered aircraft Flight 1714 had departed from the Fort McMurray area and was scheduled to land in Saskatoon before continuing on to Montreal.

Transport Canada is investigating the cause of the fire.
