Two-alarm fire displaces Toronto residents
March 13, 2018, Toronto - Several residents of a midtown Toronto apartment building were displaced by a two-alarm fire overnight and a male resident has reportedly been taken into custody.
Toronto Fire District Chief Stephan Powell says crews were called to the building, on Yonge St. near Davisville Ave., shortly before 12:30 a.m. and fought the blaze on the second floor.
All residents were evacuated and one male was taken to hospital to be treated for minor smoke inhalation.
Another male was taken into custody and officials say he is a resident of the building but there was no immediate word on possible charges.
Four units are uninhabitable and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
There is no word on a possible cause as the Office of The Fire Marshal launches an investigation. (CP24)
