Union decries closure of Rosemere station

Mar. 9, 2016, Rosemere, Que. - The city of Rosemère abruptly closed its only fire station and laid off all 38 of its firefighters Monday, saying it will save $30 million over 20 years by outsourcing fire-fighting to neighbouring Blainville. A union representing 4,000 Quebec firefighters says Rosemère acted irresponsibly and treated its employees in a cavalier manner. The Montreal Gazette reports. | READ MORE
