TransCanada Pipeline says in a statement that a fire broke out just after midnight on the Canadian Mainline natural gas pipeline
system near the community about 25 kilometres south of Winnipeg.

It says the pipeline has been shut down and roads leading to the site have been closed.

The company says RCMP, the fire department and Manitoba Hydro are on the scene, and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it is sending an investigator as well.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined and there is no estimate of damage.
