Sept. 9, 2013, St. John's – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a fire last week in downtown St. John's has been ruled accidental.

Police say fire investigators have determined there was nothing suspicious about the blaze.

The fire last Wednesday engulfed three attached buildings on Duckworth Street above the popular George Street bar district.

A health food store, an empty storefront and at least two apartment units were gutted as the empty structures burned.

No injuries were reported.
