About one-thousand people were told yesterday they could start heading home.

Most were from Pinehouse, the Red Earth Cree Nation and Deschambault Lake.

Premier Brad Wall says more evacuees will soon be allowed to go home, but he warns the fire situation remains serious.

He says things can change quickly when fires are so close to so many communities.

About 13-thousand people were forced out of their homes in at least 50 communities since evacuations began nearly there weeks ago.

Firefighters have been brought in from municipalities, other provinces and the United States.
