Simplex fire alarms to be sold across Canada

Nov. 21, 2014 – Starting on Jan. 1, more Canadians will have access to Simplex fire-alarm products though its newest distributor, Troy Life and Fire Safety.

The Owen Sound, Ont., company announced in October a distributors agreement with Pennsylvania-based Tyco Fire Protection Products to bring the Simplex brand of alarms and products to more Canadian markets.

Tyco Integrated Fire & Security already offers Simplex products in major Canadian markets, including Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. Under the new agreement, Troy is authorized to sell Simplex products in select markets in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador and P.E.I.

According to a joint press release, Tyco and Troy’s partnership, which was first established for the Canadian distribution of Asul fire-suppression products, allows both companies to expand business across Canada.

“Once this agreement is in effect, this will be a great opportunity for Troy to have access to leading technology that Tyco is know for around the world,” Troy president Jim McCoubrey said in the release.
