Training officer’s trial hears of challenging conditions

May 29, 2012, Sarnia, Ont. - Point Edward’s deputy fire chief exhausted himself battling the same St. Clair River ice that claimed the life of a fellow firefighter during a training exercise on Jan. 30, 2010. Deputy Chief Richard MacGregor testified Monday on the first day of a trial for training contractor Terry Harrison of Georgetown, Ont., who is charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act with failing to take reasonable precautions to protect a worker. The Sarnia Observer reports.
