Alberta MLAs honour firefighter and inventor Randy Schmitz

Canadian Firefighter auto-extrication writer Randy Schmitz was recognized today by members of the Alberta legislature for his nomination for the 2013 Ernest C. Manning Awards for the Schmitz Mittz (www.schmitzmittz.com). Schmitz, a Calgary firefighter, designed and developed the high-strength auto-extrication gloves. Schmitz is one of 11 Alberta nominees and one of 45 from across Canada for the award. The winners will be announced in October.
