Calgary firefighters move to 24-hour shifts to limit exposure to COVID-19

Apr. 1, 2020, Calgary – Calgary firefighters will start working in 24-hour shifts next week to limit the number of people coming and going from fire halls during the COVID-19 pandemic. Calgary Firefighters Association president Mike Henson said it’s a significant change for their workplace, but more than 80 per cent of firefighters surveyed by the union supported the move.
