August 14, 2013, Grey Highlands, Ont. – Police are treating a fire at a former ski resort west of Barrie as "suspicious."

Provincial police responded to a call Monday night when five men were allegedly seen entering the property of the former Talisman ski resort.

Police say a fire started in the kitchen but it was extinguished by fire crews, causing minimal damage.

A Grey Highlands Fire Department spokesman says the fire was allegedly started deliberately on the second floor of a building that used to house a cafeteria and ski rental office.

Police say they couldn't find any suspects despite being told there were five men on the property.

Grey Highlands had tried to sell off the resort for back taxes, but the effort was unsuccessful.

The second tax sale on Monday had received no bids.
