The fire erupted late Friday evening and Donnacona Mayor Sylvain
Germain said five buildings on the main street (Rue Notre-Dame) were
engulfed in flames.

Firefighters spent all night battling the blaze, which seemed largely contained by midday Saturday.

There were no injuries reported and an emergency plan has been put in place to shelter evacuees at a community centre.
