Fire tears through century old building in Amherst, N.S.

Sept. 21, 2020, Amherst, N.S. – Two businesses and countless storage units, containing people’s personal possessions, were lost when fire ripped through a century-old building in downtown Amherst late Saturday night. More than 100 firefighters from seven departments in Cumberland County and Sackville and Pointe du Bute, N.B. battled the fire that began at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
