Two First Nations children die in house fire

Feb. 17, 2015, Loon Lake, Sask. - Two young First Nations children have died in a house fire in northwestern Saskatchewan.

RCMP in Loon Lake say the home on the Makwa Sahgeichan reserve was engulfed in flames by the time officers arrived early Tuesday morning.

Mounties saw a man carrying out a two-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl.

The children were declared dead at the scene.

Police say no other injuries were reported.

Names were not released at the request of the family.
