Frank Loeffen appointed new chief in West Nipissing

June 17, 2022, West Nipissing, Ont. — Frank Loeffen is the new fire chief for West Nipissing Fire & Emergency Service, effective June 18.

Loeffen has over 30 years of progressive experience in the fire service, with 18 years as the fire chief for the East Ferris Fire Department. He has extensive qualifications and training and has demonstrated a keen propensity for lifelong learning.

CAO Jay Barbeau is confident that the new chief will be received with open arms. “Frank will be a welcomed asset to our organization. He understands the value and the issues surrounding attracting and motivating volunteer firefighters. Frank is fully bilingual and will easily be welcomed at all our fire stations.”

Loeffen replaces Richard Maranda, who retired at the end of May after a career with the West Nipissing Fire Services spanning 34 years.
