Sept. 17, 2019, Elton, Md. – W.L. Gore & Associates has announced the release of the GORE Particulate Hood GEN2. The GORE hood exceeds requirements of the NFPA 1971, 2018 Edition for both particulate-blocking and thermal protection. Its design integrates a barrier that blocks more than 99.99 percent of particles between 0.1 and 1.0 microns in size. It is designed to deliver reliable protection throughout the entire hood —blocking smoke at critical seams.

The GORE hood is designed to retain its level of more than 99.99 percent particulate-blocking performance after laundering. The GORE hood is also designed to minimize interference with fire ground sounds without sacrificing its particulate-blocking capabilities.

The hood is available in Ultra C6 black and Nomex blend white.
